Artist Luc Tuymans Loses a Plagiarism Case
I'm sure everyone has heard of Luc Tuymans, a wonderfully talented Belgian Traditional Artist. Recently he has come up in the news though in a highly publicized plagiarism case in a Belgian court, a case which he has lost. It all stems around his recent painting entitled A Belgian Politician in which he used a photograph belonging to Katrijn van Giel of Belgian MP Jean-Marie.
The two works are shown below as they appear on a newsletter I subscribe to called PlagiarismToday. It is very obvious they are the same image, though one is a painting. Despite Tuymans insistence to the court that his work was a parody and was not intentionally inf

Recently - and I will not divulge the name of this person - I was asked to start posting larger image sizes of my artwork for the specific purpose of downloading said artwork for personal use.
Ummmm. No!
I responded to this person that no, I do NOT post downloadable images of my artwork for "personal use" as I am a professional artist. I make my LIVING with my artwork. Granted a lot lately has not been posted here on DeviantART due to NDA's and copyrights. But I am still doing it, every day. All day! :faint:

I have almost had enough of this! This person TheMarioGamer (https://www.deviantart.com/themariogamer) has apparently been reported MULTIPLE times for at least 6 months or so - almost since he has been here on DA...
I just filed a report with DA - this is what it says:
This fellow: TheMarioGamer (https://www.deviantart.com/themariogamer) has been repeatedly reported by many people over the past 6 months or so that I know of. He is posting other people's work and those posts have been continuously reported. Yet he is still here, he is still posting stolen works, the reported images are still there, even ones who have been reported BY THE OWNERS!!!!!
