Wow! I am absolutely amazed that someone felt that my piece here (and above) [link] was art theft! I was just noted by DA that it was reported about 10 hours ago and they investigated and found the claim to be invalid! Yay DA I cannot believe that someone would do this and not have the balls to say something - maybe even in a note to me. I have clearly marked that this is a royalty free model that I downloaded from the link in the picture - I also clearly marked that Star Trek is copyrighted through Paramount Pictures - I also did not mark this for sale because this would be infringing on Paramounts Copyright of the Star Trek franchise. I did this not to sell or reap a monetary reward from it - but simply for my own pleasure and perhaps the pleasure of a few others here on DA that might be interested in my meager fanart. I am soooo hurt by this. Now - will the person who did this step forward and try to explain this in a discussion? Or do you have the brass to stand behind your "invalid claim" (DA's words - not mine ) This person who reported this might want to go on a hunt for the THOUSANDS - yes THOUSANDS of Star Trek fanart sites so they can report them!!!!

This bill is being passed to benefit huge corporations who stand to financially gain from "registrations" while we will lose all rights to our work if we do NOT register each and EVERY piece of OUR work! This is shameful!





Alright - an update on my little art theft issue - after three - yes THREE occasions where this one person stole art from me and placed it on Photobucket - yes after THREE!!!! Photobucket finally removed the offending account. This thief was rather tenuous - every time I reported the theft to Photobucket they removed the stolen piece and the very next day this guy would put the pic up AGAIN! After a lot of complaining and letter writing to Photobucket I finally got his account removed - AFTER I told them that it was almost as if they were "supporting" the art thieves with their lax policies.

So, do yourself a favor and go to Photobucket and do a search of your DA name on the site - you may be surprised...these thieves are so stupid they do not even change the file name many times.
